#RealMamaLife: There Is No Pause Button
Welcome to the 4th edition of Real Mama Life! <<< (click there to learn more about how you can participate!)
‘Where we embrace the glory and humour in the chaos. Un-staged and imperfectly beautiful.’
Written in group mode, third person (mostly), because I can.
Motherhood is never being able to give up.
Motherhood is a fresh dose of reality for the self-involved.
There is no time to wallow.
There is no time for self-pity.
At times, we will fall into a pit of despair, we will falter – but ultimately, the mark of a good mother is in the conviction she gives to snapping out of it.
For herself and her children.
This, for however vague it must be to you, dear reader: is my daily mantra.
Sometimes, our stories aren’t all ours to share. For this, dear friends is why all I can say is this mama’s #RealMamaLife, just got hella real and deeply challenging. It’s been a long time coming.
This is for all the moms out there who struggle to keep their families together. Who fight the good fight even when relationships meet their would-be-maker and do everything to come out together, on the other side. To choose happiness over power. To choose love over control. To embrace the light before the darkness swallows you whole.
#RealMamaLife is speaking out about families who struggle and champion throughout mental illness. #RealMamaLife is about giving a voice to families and mothers who stay silent when they don’t fit the status quo.
#RealMamaLife is family and motherhood uncensored.

This was perfect. And you are so right, “motherhood is never being able to give up.” I love that so much. I identify with that statement so much.
I just love the paragraph that says “This is for all the moms out there who struggle to keep their families together. Who fight the good fight even when relationships meet their would-be-maker and do everything to come out together, on the other side. To choose happiness over power. To choose love over control. To embrace the light before the darkness swallows you whole.”
Thank you so much for sharing!
Ah, yes – those words just poured out when I wrote this. It’s always a good flow when it happens like that, straight from the heart. Why is it that the glaring truth is often so hard to practice day to day? Sara – thanks for joining the community and for recent, continued support!
